What Documents will I need to rent a car with Lesvos car hire?

You will need a valid driver’s licence, a valid Passport or photo ID, a credit in your name for the deposit. International drivers permit are required from some countries

What if I want to cancel my booking?

If cancellation is made seven days or more before the beginning of your rental, you may cancel free of charge. If cancellation is made within 7 days and up to 24 hours before your pick up date and time, a loss of deposit will result. Credit card fees are non-refundable in all cases. Cancellation within 24hrs of pick-up time results in the first day rental plus delivery fee being charged.

What if I need to change my booking?

Yes,You may make changes to your booking subject to availability. Simply contact us by email.

What happens if I break down?

Don’t Panic! In the case of mechanical failure resulting in breakdown, we provide roadside assistance and 24-hour telephone support by English and Greek speaking staff. Please call the help centre +30 6970 674327.

What are the methods of payments?

You can pay for your car rental in advance by bank transfer, on arrival with a credit/debit card or cash (Euro), however you will still need to provide a major credit card in the driver's name to cover the deposit.

Can I pay with cash?

A credit card in the name of the main driver must be supplied to cover the deposit amount of 700 euro and a cash balance may be paid on delivery of your vehicle.

Is there an extra charge for delivery & collection?

Delivery and collection are always free of charge to any of the following destinations:

  • Anaxos
  • Petra including Petra port
  • Molivos
  • Eftalou
  • Delivery and collection are free of charge where the rental period is greater than 5 days for the following destinations:
  • Mytilene town
  • Mytilene port
  • Mytilene airport
  • Kalloni town including Skala Kalloni
  • Plomari town
  • Eressos town including Skala Eressos
  • Sigri town

Where the rental period at these destinations is less than 5 days, a 30 Euro fee is charged for delivery and a 30 Euro fee is charged for the collection of the rental vehicle.

How much petrol will be in the car when I collect it?

The rental vehicle is generally supplied with a half tank of fuel and is returned at the same level or refuelling charges will apply. You are responsible for the petrol you use. You are responsible for using the correct fuel type.

Is there a limit to the number of Kilometres/Miles I use or will I have to pay extra?

There is no limit to the number of kilometres/miles you may use during the period of your rental, we want you enjoy our beautiful Island.

What about insurance? Am I covered?

Customers are covered by insurance, please read the terms & conditions for full coverage and exemption details.

Where can I find the insurance cover on arrival?

The insurance cover will be indicated on your rental agreement.

Can my car be delivered to my hotel?

Yes; Delivery and collection to, from your hotel can be arranged this is usually free of charge in Anaxos, Petra, Molivos and Eftalou.

Plomari, Sigri, Eressos, Skala Kalloni and Mytilene charges may apply.

Deliveries usually are made between 8 - 10am. You may request an appointment time.

Can I book by telephone?

Yes you may make Car rental reservations by phone. Simply call our office (0030) 6970674327 or (0030) 6970673954. Our office is open for bookings from 09.00-21.00 CET. You can contact us using WhatsApp, Messenger & Viber for a quick chat

Can I pick-up at one location & drop off at another?

Yes. Your vehicle may be delivered to one location & returned to a different location, please request this at time of booking. This may be subject to additional charges.

What happens if I return the vehicle late?

Please note that once your rental agreement expires (time displayed on the signed agreement) you will no longer be covered by insurance. You will be charged an extra day's rental at no more than the local rate.

Can I return the car early?

Yes. Please note that no refund can be given for the unused portion of your booking.

What is Super cover or nil-own risk option?

Super cover is an optional premium policy that covers all excesses and exemptions. It is charged at a daily rate of €15.00 and in the event we have cause to make a claim on our insurance this policy leaves you with nothing to pay.

How many people can drive?

One main driver and one additional driver may be listed on the rental agreement.

Can I request extras?

Yes. We have baby seats & child booster seats which are usually free of charge. We do not have navigation systems as they are not yet 100% effective on Lesvos.

All extra’s need to be requested at least 48hrs prior to collection and are subject to availability.

How old must each driver be to drive?

From 21 years old with a valid driver's licence held for at least 2 years - up to 74 years.

From 18 years up to 21 years & from 69 years up to 74 years may be requested, however an additional insurance premium may apply.

What do I do if I have an accident, or the vehicle is stolen or damaged?

In the event of an incident (e.g. accident, theft or damage to the vehicle) you must do the following:

  • Call Lesvos Car Hire and Costas Rentals immediately on +30 69706 74327 to report the incident
  • Inform the Police immediately and obtain an Incident or Crime Number
  • Obtain names, addresses, contact telephone numbers of all third parties and witnesses and vehicle registration numbers of all third parties and supply them when you call.
  • Where possible, take photographs of the incident with your mobile phone for future reference.
  • Provide all reasonable assistance to your rental supplier, agents, and insurers in dealing with the court proceedings including allowing court actions to be taken in your name and defending any proceedings taken against you.

What happens if I get a parking ticket?

All parking tickets or traffic violations must be paid locally by the person on the rental agreement. Please call our office for advice in this event.
